Fool's Proof Theatre
Fool's Proof Theatre is an international theatre company, which creates and performs devised work, promotes theatre as an approachable and evolving medium, and links international artists of all disciplines.
Its core members, Ben Phillips (UK), Britt Jurgensen (Germany), Mary Pearson (USA), work with an ensemble creation process, including collaborations with associated artists.
As theatre makers, we came together with a shared interest in creating our own work, which is not only highly physical and visual but also has a compelling narrative. Our love of international living and our similar vagabonding histories set the ground for our collective vision.
Above all, we look for humanity in our work, however banal, grotesque, dark, ridiculous, nerdy, or vulnerable. Through our work we use our own life experiences and philosophical concerns to create unpretentious art with a warm heart, a mad twisted soul and quirky humor.
The company is supported and nurtured by Hope Street, an award-winning organisation dedicated to the development of artists, artforms and arts in Liverpool.
